Abstract (en)
The cable has one or more electrical conductors (3) with a strip of suitable material wound round the conductor group to provide a shielding screen (6). The screen has lines of weakness formed along its length to allow it to be easily separated. The weakness is formed by perforations (10) positioned at regular intervals along the shielding strip. The size of the perforations is chosen to minimise the effect on the shielding properties. The perforations are in a line that lies either along the length of the cable, parallel to the conductors or runs along the strip forming the shielding so that the perforations spiral along the length of the cable.
