Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9711512A2] The present invention relates to a method for contacting a multiway socket connector for plug and socket connections with coaxial connecting cables. To simplify the method and to save on tools, a multi-row socket connector is divided into plastic discs, one side of the disc having insulation-displacement connecting devices arranged behind each other and connected to contact springs, and the other side having pressure members injection-moulded so as to have a matching form. The discs are spaced in a die by corresponding press-in pins having a driving fit. Coaxial connecting cables cut in lengths are inserted into these spaced, preassembled discs and at the free ends of said cables a preset length of the outer insulation and the braided screen has been removed. When the discs are pressed together, the connecting wires are pressed against the insulation-displacement connecting device by the pressure members.
