Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH10195741A] PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject method by increasing the stitches at the side edges of knitted fabric that are to be connected together at the edges by means of a combination of stitch increasing methods for tubular knit fabrics. SOLUTION: A course is knitted from the left to the right in the carriage direction on the front needle bed, and then the course is knitted from the right to the left on the rear needle bed. A course is knitted from the left to the right on the front needle bed, and tuck loops are formed on the needles at the edges that have been idle. A course is formed from the right to the left on the rear needle bed and the course is knitted from the right to the left. By virtue of the first knitted region, the tuck loops are transferred to the idle needles on the rear needle bed from the left to the right; a course is knitted on the front needle bed by virtue of another knitted region; a course is formed from the right to the left and the course is knitted from the left to the right, forming tuck loops on the idle needles at the edges of the rear needle bed. A course is formed in the reverse carriage direction on the rear needle bed, transferring the tuck loops to the needles on the front bed to form and knit a course. These steps are repeated.
