[origin: WO9711887A2] The present invention pertains to a metal container body for a non-round container with sharp bends and with a lid beaded onto the upper border, the side wall (2) of the lid being provided with a shoulder (1a, 1b); a first shoulder (1a) in at least part of those areas which when viewed in plan are elongated or less sharply bent than other parts is closer to the upper border (3) of the container than a second shoulder (1b) in the remaining areas; and the side wall (2) in at least parts of the areas in which the first shoulder (1a) is present has lateral riffles (4) when viewed from the side, those riffles extending substantially vertically and above the level of the second shoulder (1b).
