[origin: WO9713068A1] The invention concerns a method of continuously regulating the delivery of a plate-like intake valve (1) comprising a valve plate (3) which is actuated by an electromagnet (9) disposed in a valve catcher (6), the electromagnet (9) being controlled in such a way that, in a first control phase (11a), the valve plate (3) lies firmly and is blocked on the valve catcher (6) or a damper plate (4) disposed between the valve catcher (6) and the valve plate (3) and, in a second control phase (11b), the electromagnet (9) is controlled by a decaying alternating current in order to demagnetize the valve plate (3) such that the latter is released.
