Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9638651A2] The invention concerns a method and devices for making safe an oil well in the event of a defect in the hydraulic control line (4) of its bottom safety valve. The method consists in replacing the original valve by a special bottom valve (15) for making the oil well safe, fitting inside the production tubing (1) a new hydraulic control line (16) and hydraulically connecting said line to the special safety valve. The new safety valve is thus controlled by a line inside the production tubing (1), the original line (4) being taken out of service. The new valve enables the oil well to operate in conformity with safety standards.
