The bed comprises a base frame, seat (2) with backrest (3) that can be collapsed to form a bed, box (4) beneath the seat and a reclinable section where the seat is moved forwards beyond the front of the sofa. Pulling the seat forwards by a distance (W) converts the sofa into a bed. The front edge (2a) of the seat and rear edge (3a) of the backrest are aligned with both the vertical edges (5a) of the seat in the reclinable sofa section. Preferably the box is moved on rollers (6,7) along wood slide rails (8) with stoppers (9,10) at each end. The rear ends of the rails are sloped downwards. The rails are secured to the sides of the frame and to a wood bar (8a) along the front edge of the seat.

Die Klappcouch (KC) hat ein Untergestell (1), ein mit einer Rückenlehne (3) in eine Liegefläche umklappbares Sitzteil (2) und einen unter dem Sitzteil (2) angeordneten Bettkasten (4), und eine neben der Klappcouch stehende, mit ihrem Sitz-Liegeteil (5) in der Sitzstellung der Klappcouch (KC) über das Couch-Sitzteil frontseitig vorstehenden Recamiere (R). Das Sitzteil (2) ist mit dem Bettkasten (4) bei der Umwandlung in die Liegefläche auf einem begrenzten Weg (W) im Untergestell (1) frontseitig herausziehbar gelagert und dabei liegt das Sitzteil (2) mit seiner frontseitigen Längskante (2a) und die Rückenlehne (3) mit ihrer hinteren Längskante (3a) mit beiden Querkanten (5a, 5b) des Sitz-Liegeteiles (5) der Recamiere (R) in einer Flucht. <IMAGE>
