Abstract (en)

The apertures (16a, 16b) in the coolant channels (12a, 12b) are for coolant feed and coolant outlet to the crankcase. A virtually radially running connecting channel (20) is closed in its run to the crankcase and is connected to the ring segment-shaped channels in the area of the apertures (16a, 16b, 18). The connecting channel (20) is inclined at least in areas. It is matchingly formed in its runn to the base of a combustion chamber though formed in a piston base. It runs mostly above the level of the ring segment-shaped coolant channels (12a, 12b). The cross-sections of the coolant channels are so formed that they become greater remote from the apertures.

Ein flüssigkeitsgekühlter Kolben (10) für Verbrennungsmotoren weist zum einen mindestens einen in einem Kolbenoberteil ausgebildeten, ringsegmentförmigen Kühlmittelkanal (12a, 12b) auf, der an bezüglich der Kolbenbolzenachse (14) symmetrischen Stellen zur Kühlmittelzufuhr und zum Kühlmittelablaß Öffnungen (16a, 16b, 18) aufweist. Zum anderen ist ein annähernd radial verlaufender, in seinem Verlauf zum Kurbelraum hin geschlossener Verbindungskanal (20) vorgesehen, der mit den ringsegmentförmigen Kanälen (12a, 12b) im Bereich der Öffnungen (16a, 16b, 18) verbunden ist. <IMAGE>
