Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0855756A1] The EMP shunt has a housing in the outer conductor (10) of a coaxial cable (30) and a gas discharge overvoltage shunt (28) connected to the inner conductor via a further conductor (24). The gas discharge overvoltage shunt is replaceably mounted between the housing (20) and conductor (24). At least one sleeve, pref. several sleeves (25,26) in series with the shunt and arranged one inside the other, is or are mounted inside the housing. The sleeves are of different lengths and dia. which result in different resonant frequencies.
