[origin: EP0856395A2] A novel rotary press comprising frame, driven rotor, pressure roller and casing, is used for tray production. Here the novel feature is the mounting of the rotor (2), drive and pressure roller unit (3). They are carried by the massive base plate (1), which is flexurally rigid and resists warping. This entire assembly is supported on resilient mountings (7) on the base frame (6). The rigidity of the resilient mountings and the overall mass of the assembly carried by them, are matched for low resonance frequency in all six degrees of freedom. The resonance frequency is less than the excitation frequency due to stamping, at the lowest speed used.
