[origin: EP0856468A1] The separate salad components are dropped into compartments (A,B) formed in a duct by sliding spacers (14,15). The filled compartments are pushed under a filling station where a plunger (16) presses plates (17,18) onto the components and forces them down through hinged flap into the trays (22). The system provides a sorted dosing of multiple components into trays eg. for food products. The components are supplied loose eg. leaf salad and the final mix ratio is carefully controlled.
