[origin: EP0856862A1] The cover for the end of a conductor (3) which is at medium or high tension voltage has a rigid hollow body (1) forming a cap which is intended to form a casing around the end of the conductor to be protected. This cap has an annular edge surrounding the outside of the conductor at a distance. The space between this annular edge and the outside surface of the conductor is closed by a membrane (4) which is elastically deformable. The membrane has a curvature when seen in the longitudinal axial plane of the conductor. The deformation of the membrane is limited by an element (5) fixed on the internal annular edge of the cap. The element is arranged to ensure that the radius of curvature of the membrane is always greater than a certain fixed value.
