Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0857686A1] The brake (10) has a double shoe brake (12) with four brake shoes (20,22;24,26). Clamping elements (32,34) for operating the brake are each attached to a separate brake circuit. The brake is in the form of an outer shoe brake with two symmetrically positioned clamping elements in the form of a magnet which, when operating, move two opposite facing brake backing plates (36) towards each other.
