Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0857877A2] The converter has a pressurised gas container (15) and a converter piston (10,11). The piston is moved by the gas, which is released in portions from the container into a neighbouring working chamber (13) where it is depressurised. A hydraulic fluid is moved by a hydraulic pump (28,32) into a pressure line (34). The converter piston and pump are connected only by mechanical couplings (25,26,27,30,31). These couplings preferably drive a drive shaft (27,31) of the pump. The drive shaft is connected to a flywheel, and shaft or flywheel are driven via a constant ratio transmission. The pump volume can be adjusted relative to the piston stroke.
