[origin: EP0858127A2] The connector has a plug element (12) connected to the end of a lead cable inserted axially in a socket element (18) provided by a stationary device, to bring cooperating contact elements into contact with one another. The connector can be locked in the closed position via a locking element provided by the plug element, cooperating with a locking element provided by the socket element, with a matching projection (32) of the plug element fitting into a corresponding slot (31) in the socket element, for tensioning a seal (24) between the connector elements.
