Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19541061C1] The invention concerns an electrographic printer with an intermediate medium (32) for simultaneously printing a first web section (A) of an endless medium and a second web section (B) arranged next to and at a distance from the first web section (A). Both web sections are drawn along a path past the intermediate medium (32) by a transport system (66, 68, 70, 72). During the printing process, a tensioning device (34) bias the first and second web sections (A, B) against the intermediate medium (32), a web-tensioning unit located behind (relative to the direction of transport) the transport device (66, 68, 70, 72) applies a traction force to the web sections (A, B) in the direction of travel. In addition, a first equalisation device (56) and a second equalisation device (58) separated from the first are provided between the transport device (66, 68, 70, 72) and tensioning device (34). The equalisation devices bias the first or second web section, as appropriate, against the direction of transport during the printing process.
