[origin: EP0858761A1] The telescopic vacuum cleaner suction tube has an outer tube, an inner tube carrying a catch bar extending axially and at least one locking body working with the catch recesses on the catch bar and which is held in a recess of a cylindrical part extending over the catch bar. A lower holder that can slide axially and goes over the recess works upon the locking body in at least one position. The cylindrical part (12) in the region of the recess has a device to hold and to guide the locking body, which can move at least radially. The cylindrical part is provided with guides in the region of the recess in which is held the locking body, provided with a guide peg at each end.
