The attachment includes a clamping mechanism (18) which has at least one movable clamping jaw, movable between an open and closed position. The clamping mechanism clamps the ends (14,15) of the printing plate (13) together, and is removably contained in the axial slot (21) in the plate cylinder (11). The clamping mechanism joins the ends of the printing plate before it is inserted into the axial slot in the plate cylinder. The clamping mechanism in a direction radially positioned in relation to the centre of the cylinder has one or more slanting or conical sides supported on matching sides of the axial slot.

Bei einer Vorrichtung und einem Verfahren zum Aufbringen einer Druckplatte (13) auf einen Plattenzylinder einer Rotationsdruckmaschine werden die Enden (14, 15) der Druckplatte um ca. 90° abgebogen, die Platte in eine kreisförmige Gestalt gebracht und die abgebogenen Plattenenden (14, 15) mit Hilfe eines Klemmechanismus (18) außerhalb der Druckmaschine miteinander verklemmt. Im Anschluß daran wird der Klemmechanismus (18) zusammen mit der Druckplatte (13) in einen axialen Schlitz des Plattenzylinders eingeführt und auf den Plattenzylinder aufgeschoben. <IMAGE>
