The gas fired water heater has a single blower (10) whose airflow is split into a main airflow for the burner (14) and a cooling airflow for the ring shaped duct (34) around the burner chamber. A shaped duct (12) on the outlet of the blower has walls to separate the airflow and to duct the main airflow to the burner. The exhaust duct mixes the cooling airflow with the exhaust gasses and ducts them up the flue. (24). The burner is mounted in a heat resisting outer wall (16) cooled by the outer airflow. The air ducts are shaped so that the cooling airflow has a higher pressure than the burner airflow. Ducts (48) in the outer wall of the burner admit some cooling air.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Gas-Heizgerät für Wassererhitzer mit einem Gebläse, das die Verbrennungsluft durch eine Vormischkammer zu einem Vormischbrenner fördert, ferner mit einem stromab des Vormischbrenners angeordneten, eine Brennkammer umschließenden Verbrennungsschacht, der von einem strömenden Fluid gekühlt und ausgangsseitig von einem Wärmeübertrager abgeschlossen ist, und mit einer Einrichtung zum Abführen der aus dem Wärmeübertrager austretenden Abgase. Es wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Verbrennungsschacht (16) luftgekühlt ist und zur Förderung des Kühlluftstromes das Gebläse (10, 50) für die Verbrennungsluft dient. Das hat den Vorteil, daß bei Heizgeräten mit einem Vormischbrenner ohne zusätzliche Anordnung eines Gebläses für die Kühlluftförderung eine gute Kühlwirkung und ein hoher Wasserwirkungsgrad erreichbar ist. <IMAGE>
