Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0859393A1] The contactor has axial lugs (46) on a coil former to engage coaxially, on moving axially in external field, centring holes (48) in a plate (28) which forms a fixed magnetic core. One centring hole at least reaches the front surface (50) of the plate and the corresponding lug extends beyond this front surface into the space beyond to support a printed circuit, carried on a p.c.b. (52). This extended lug is hollow to allow the passage of a conducting wire (20) from the coil to cross the plate. The coil (14) lies in a cylindrical former (16) and the connecting wire is placed in a passage in the hollow lug by means of a radial slot extending from the exterior towards the interior along the length of the lug and across the former wall. The front surface of the lug meets a metallic eyelet in the p.c.b. so that the conducting wire passes through its hole (59) and is connected to the eyelet.
