[origin: DE19637103A1] A valve has swirl-generating means (23) arranged downstream of a valve seat (29) and shaped in such a way that they generate at least two streams of a fluid to be injected that are mutually offset in the radial direction and have different orientations. At the boundary between the partial streams with different orientations, swirl-induced shearing forces occur which produce turbulences. This arrangement ensures a uniform, fine spraying of the fluid, in particular a fuel, without additional energy. This valve is particularly suitable for fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing, spark-ignited internal combustion engines.
