[origin: EP0860380A1] The vehicle has a loading funnel and compression mechanism above and to the rear of the driver's cab (35). An interchangeable hopper (2) is mounted on the vehicle behind the cab and at the funnel outlet. The front-loading mechanism (3) transports the dustbins(6) in front of the vehicle to the funnel, and comprises a derricking arm (9,9') at each side, joined in the working position by a cross-beam (7) in front of the cab. The dustbin (6) is secured by a holder (5) at the free end of an articulated boom (4) slewing on the cross-beam, and which can consist of several sections (13 - 15) hinging together, typically a single lever (14) on which double levers (13, 15) hinge at each end. The longer double lever hinges on the cross-beam and the shorter one on the dustbin-holder.
