Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0860579A2] The blind winds onto a rotary drum countersunk in a wall and which is spring-loaded in the winding direction. A plate (2) with a base surface towards the wall contains an outlet slot for the belt which is open at one end, and accommodates two or more parallel cylindrical driven friction rollers (4,5) with directly intermeshing gears (48) and between which the belt passes, extending tangentially and without further deflection to the slot. A driving motor on the plate extends above or below a section of the belt. A right-angle gear train couples the motor shaft to one of the rollers which is not immediately adjacent to the slot.
