The mechanism has a telescopic arm (26) with a grab (31) for the bits at its free forward end. The grab jaw (34) is open to the front when seen in the direction of arm movement. The grab can have top and bottom jaws (32,33) pivoting on a central axis (30) in the drilling plane, and with converging surfaces (35,36) on which a clamping housing with mating surfaces slides axially to give the locking effect. It is spring-loaded into the free position and typically actuated by a hydraulic ram (40). Easily replaceable clamping inserts can be provided on the grab working faces.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Handhabung von Bohrrohren, Bohrgestängen oder dgl. Bohrelementen (11) an einem Bohrgerät (1) zum Bohren von Löchern im Erdreich, Gestein oder Fels, insbesondere beim Entnehmen der Bohrelemente (11) aus einem Magazin (14), Setzen in die Arbeitsstellung sowie Ziehen und Rückführen der Bohrelemente (11) nach Durchführung des Bohrvorgangs in das Magazin (14), mit einem teleskopartig verfahrbaren Greifarm (25, 26), an dessen freiem, vorderen Ende ein Greifer für die Bohrelemente (11) angeordnet ist, wobei der teleskopartig verfahrbare Greifarm mit einem Greifer versehen ist, dessen Maulöffnung nach vorn in Bewegungsrichtung des Greifarms angeordnet ist. <IMAGE>
