Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0860657A2] A procedure for controlling the temperature in thermal waste treatment plants consisting of a reaction chamber(1) and a following heating drum (2) using an additional fuel has a substitute fuel won from the waste material used as this additional fuel, in dust, powder or grain form. It is fed in separately from the waste material into the reaction chamber in proportion to the combustion power of the chamber and/or the temperature at the outlet of the chamber. The substitute fuel is only fed in when the conditions for its self-ignition exist in the reaction chamber. One or more lances open out into the reaction chamber and are spatially separate from the belt feeder.
