Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0861707A2] The pliers have two shanks (F,G) terminating in hand grips (12,13). The upper ends of the two shanks terminate in profiled grip jaws (14,15). The two halves are linked by a pivot on a sliding mounting to alter the spacing of the jaws. The sliding setting is secured by a ratchet (52) along the rear edge of one half and gripped by a ratchet grip (40) on the other section. The pivot section of the pliers has a rotating plate (18) which supports the ratchet grip at one edge. The plate also has two parallel lips to form the sliding guide for the other half of the pliers.
