Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0861930A2] The loosening roller, to break sliver down into fibres for an open-end spinner, uses a wire clothing (3) which is coated, before it is fitted to the clothing carrier (12). Also claimed is a mfg. process where, after the teeth have been shaped in the clothing wire, the wire is shaped into a spiral on the plane where the teeth lie. The wire spiral, with a gap between the coils, is coated and then wound on to the loosening roller.
