Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19642123A1] The present invention pertains to a retaining sleeve for maintaining a rotating joint which can be released in case of a collision. The joint is located between the operating rod of brake mechanism and a pedal. The aim is to ensure fast and safe locking, including under conditions of bad visibility during the assembly process. For that purpose, sub-units of the notching device are preferably premounted on the operating rod. The inventive efforts were directed at improving characteristics for ensuring safe locking in such a way that pretensioning forces exerted upon the securing device cause same to remain loose as long as the correct notching position has not been found.
