Abstract (en)
System to detect a leak or overflow, in a domestic clothes washing machine, comprises a housing (18) with a lateral opening (23) for liquid to enter in the event of a leak or overflow. It contains at least one body or substance as a pastille (24, 25) that reacts with the liquid to form a gas. The housing cover (22) has an opening (37) for the gas to escape to be registered by a gas detector. Preferably the pastilles (24, 25) are bicarbonate of soda, and sodium pyrophosphate or sodium dihydrogen phosphate. The pastilles produce 300 cm<3> of CO2. Alternatively the pastilles are ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and a metasilicate of sodium pentahydrate to form crystals of Na2SiO35H2O. The pastilles produce 300 cm<3> of ammonia gas.

Le dispositif comprend un boîtier (18) pourvu d'une ouverture latérale (23) permettant l'entrée d'un liquide à la suite d'une fuite ou d'un débordement, et renfermant au moins un corps ou une substance, notamment sous forme de pastille (24, 25), qui au contact du liquide à détecter pénétrant dans le boîtier (18) par l'ouverture (23), est apte à produire un gaz. Le couvercle (22) du boîtier (18) comporte un orifice (37) pour l'échappement du gaz vers un moyen de détection de ce gaz. Ce dispositif s'applique aux machines à laver le linge ou la vaisselle. Il est avantageusement combiné avec un dispositif de sécurité de débordement placé au niveau du raccord hydraulique du flexible d'amenée d'eau vers la machine à laver. <IMAGE>
