[origin: EP0863365A2] The steam generator has a steam boiler (1), burner shaft (5) and heat exchange sector (10) with channels (12a, 12b, 12c) connected on one side to a chimney and on the other via a connecting sector to the burner shaft. The connecting sector has a through passage (25), formed by an aperture in one wall (15a, 15b) of the burner shaft and an insert (20). The aperture connects the burner shaft to one or more of the channels of the heat exchange sector, and is partly closed by the insert (20).
