[origin: EP0863525A2] The electrical apparatus has a rocker type switch that has a pair of fixed contacts (18, 20) between which the moving contacts (16) on a rocker carrier (14) are positioned. The rocker is moved by a toggle (12) that pivots about a point (13). The end of the toggle has formed lugs (28,29) and the lugs engage features on the rocker. A small translational movement is given to the rocker and results in a shortened active contact arcing period.
