[origin: WO9813824A1] An optical scanning device is described, which comprises a scanning element having a reflecting measuring reference face (31), and a position detection system (80) which supplies, inter alia, a measuring signal (jz) for the rotational position of the scanning element. The scanning element is supported by an electromagnetical bearing which causes the scanning element to assume certain positions of equilibrium. A reliable start-up is achieved by selectively amplifying said signal for frequencies near the natural frequency (fb) of the scanning element in said positions of equilibrium.
