[origin: EP0864528A1] The selection and display device (1), positioned on each floor serviced by the lift, has a number of input buttons (2) for selecting respective floors (F0,F1,F2,F3,F4) in the building, each associated with a floor identification field (3) and a common lift call display (4). The selection and display device at each floor only has a number of buttons corresponding to the number of floors which can be reached by the lift, for direct selection of the required floor.
