Abstract (en)

A cutter, for agricultural and forestry use, consists of a quench hardened steel which is microalloyed with boron and which has a carbon content of 0.35-0.50 %. Preferably, the steel contains 0.3-0.5 % Cr and 0.0015-0.008 % B and has a hardness of ≥ 48 HRC. Also claimed is production of the above cutter by subjecting a cutter of boron microalloyed steel of 0.35-0.50 % C content to quench hardening to ≥ 48 HRC hardness and surface hardening, preferably by carbonitriding, to 65-70 HRC surface hardness.

Abstract (de)

Eine Klinge für land- und forstwirtschaftliche Zwecke wird dadurch hergestellt, daß sie aus mikroborlegiertem Stahl mit einem Kohlenstoffgehalt von 0,35 bis 0,5 % gefertigt wird, durch Erwärmen und Abschrecken auf eine Härte größer oder gleich 48 HRc gebracht wird und an der Oberfläche durch ein an sich bekanntes Oberflächenhärtungsverfahren, vorzugsweise durch Karbonitrieren, auf eine Härte von 65 bis 70 HRc gebracht wird. Die derart hergestellte Klinge weist ausreichend harte Schneidbereiche auf, um als Schneide mit zufriedenstellender Standzeit eingesetzt zu werden. Dennoch ist die Bruchgefahr durch ausreichende Zähigkeit gering gehalten. <IMAGE>
