Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0864676A2] For the operation of a ring spinner, with spindle attachments, at least two yarn breakage rates are registered, to be compared with each other. The gap between the yarn guide and the spindle attachment is altered according to the plus/minus indications of a difference between the compared yarn breakage rates for a functional improvement of the spinning process. Also claimed is a ring spinner with the yarn guides (10) at a common carrier (15), which is given a height setting by a lifting/lowering mechanism (19). The mechanism (19) is connected to a control (23), which determines the yarn guide (10) height setting by the comparison of two yarn breakage rates, to set the gap between the yarn guides (10) and the spindle attachments (5).
