[origin: EP0864711A2] The tiles or panels are used to cover a floor, wall, or similar surface, and are made from a synthetic material. Each panel or tile has at least one side edge (2,3,4,5) with an elongated seal (6), which is made preferably from an elastic material. One part (7) of the seal has an insertion or notched connection, and each panel or tile has the associated counterpart (12) for the connection, on at least one further side edge (8,9,10,11). Each longitudinal side edge may have counterparts for the connections, and the spacing (a) between the connection parts may be equal to that between the counterparts.
