Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0864804A2] The adjuster has an electromagnet by which the aperture (4) located between a reflector (1) and a lens (3) can be adjusted from a position giving a dipped-beam into one giving a main-beam. A holder can automatically adjust the screen into the dipped-beam position when the electromagnet is inactive. The screen can be held in its dipped-beam position not only by the holding force of a second electromagnet that can be activated but also by the force of the holding device against a shoulder. The first electromagnet is formed by a lifting magnet whose lifting element is coupled to the adjustable screen.
