Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0864837A2] The heat exchanger has a number of corrugated rectangular plates stacked together to form two separate flow paths for two different heat exchanging media. The flow paths have inlet and outlet ports and are sealed to prevent mixing, the profile of the plates being such as to enhance the sealing in the vulnerable areas. The rectangular stack of plates (1) has an inlet or outlet openings (2) for the flow of a first heating medium through a path (4) and another (3) for a second heating medium flowing behind the first plate (5) which has a corrugated profile. Between the first flow path and the second inlet/outlet opening is a seal (6) and the second opening also has a seal (7).
