Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9739978A1] A horse-riding saddle protecting device that also facilitates its carriage and storage is disclosed. It is intended to protect parts of a horse-riding saddle, namely the pommel and the cantle, most exposed to wear and tear when manipulated, transported in a van, or placed on the ground and to facilitate the carriage and storage of the said saddle. It is characterised in that it comprises a first member (1) in the shape of a clamping jaw being received by the cantle part of a U-shaped sheath curved inwards like a gutter, or in a semi-circle open horizontally towards the cantle and with a curve matching the profile of the said cantle, and a second member (2) also in the shape of a narrow, deep clamping jaw to grip with its rear-oriented opening the pommel part of the saddle. These two elements (1, 2) are provided with means on the side opposite to their jaws for passing and linking the lengthwise adjustable strap (3) so that the said strap maintains the two elements (1, 2) opposite each other on the saddle. The two elements (1, 2) are made of a semi-rigid material such as plastic, rubber, resin.
