[origin: WO9720988A1] A bridge inspection system is designed specifically for moving along the underside of bridges (1) and comprises the following: a chassis (2) capable of travelling along the length of the bridge; a frame (3) mounted on the chassis (2) for gripping around a bridge rail (4), sound-proofing wall or the like; a support device (5) which can pivot and rotate on the frame (3) and can be laid against the bridge (1); and a lifting tower (6) which can be hung into or onto the chassis (2) or frame (3), said tower having an adjoining working platform (7). The system is intended for use on bridges (1) with rails (4), sound-proofing walls etc. of differing heights. It is based on a safe yet simple design such that the frame (3) is telescopically height-adjustable at least in the outer region.
