The device for machining workpieces consisting of wood, for example, preferably using a rotating tool, especially a planing machine, has a support for the workpiece and at least one spring-loaded press element that is designed for example as a roller or a prop. The element is located opposite the support and is movable towards it. The total spring characteristic of the loading springs of the press element is designed to be digressive. Two springs work on the press element (1,2) of which the one exerting a force towards the workpiece support possesses a characteristic that is flatter than the other one, exerting a force in the opposite direction.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur spanabhebenden Bearbeitung von z.B. aus Holz bestehenden Werkstücken 4, vorzugsweise mittels eines rotierenden Werkzeuges 3, insbesondere Dicken- oder Abricht-Dickenhobelmaschine, mit einer Auflage 5 für das Werkstück 4 und mindestens einem federbelasteten Anpreßelement 1, 2, das beispielsweise als Walze oder Stempel ausgebildet und der Auflage 5 gegenüberliegend angeordnet sowie gegen die Auflage 5 bewegbar gelagert ist, wobei die Gesamtfederkennlinie (9) der Belastungsfedern (7, 8) des Anpreßelementes (1, 2) degressiv ausgebildet ist. <IMAGE>
