Use of bisacylacetal compounds of formula (I) as activators in oxidising, washing, cleaning and disinfecting solutions is new. R1-CO-O-C(A)(B)-O-CO-R2 (I). R1, R2 = H, aryl, alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl (all with 1-17 C); A, B = H, alkyl, aryl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl (all with 1-17 C), provided that at least one of A and B is substituted with at least one hydrophilic group selected from -SO3H, -OSO3H, -PO(OH)2, -OPO(OH)2, -CO2H and their anions or -N<+)<R3)(R4)(R5) Y<->; R3-R5 = H, aryl, alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl (all with 1-17 C); and Y<-> = charge-balancing anion.

Die Aktivierung von Persauerstoffverbindungen, insbesondere im Rahmen des Bleichens von Farbanschmutzungen beim Waschen von Textilien sowie Reinigen harter Oberflächen, gelingt besonders wirksam durch die Verwendung von Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I, <IMAGE> in der R<1> und R<2> unabhängig voneinander für Wasserstoff, einen Aryl-, Alkyl-, Alkenyl- oder Cycloalkylrest mit 1 bis 17 C-Atomen sowie A und B unabhängig voneinander für Wasserstoff, eine Aryl-, Alkyl-, Alkenyl- oder Cycloalkylgruppe mit 1 bis 17 C-Atomen, wobei mindestens eine der Gruppen A und B mit mindestens einer hydrophilen Gruppe substituiert ist, ausgewählt aus -SO3H, -OSO3H, -PO(OH)2, -OPO(OH)2, -CO2H und deren Anionen sowie -N<+>R<3>R<4>R<4> Y<->, worin R<3>, R<4> und R<5> unabhängig voneinander für Wasserstoff, einen Aryl-, Alkyl-, Alkenyl- oder Cycloalkylrest mit 1 bis 17 C-Atomen und Y<-> für ein ladungsausgleichendes Anion stehen.
