[origin: EP0866209A1] An element for a drill string comprises tubes whose external surfaces present helical grooves. These grooves transverse section is perpendicular to the axis of the string, which is in part counter-turned at the back of a radius of the string passed by the external extreme of the groove section in the direction of rotation. The transverse section of the groove is described by a straight line making a negative counter-turn angle ( beta ) with the radius of the transverse section of the string.
