Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0866427A2] The mail processing system uses a personal computer (10) with a system bus (7) for interconnecting a number of components, coupled to a printing station for electronic printing of the handled mail. A security device (6) is coupled to the system bus via an input/output interface (64) and is provided with a hardware circuit specific to the user, with a read-only memory (68,69) and a security processor (77), performing at least one security programme.
