[origin: EP0866526A2] The carrier belt has a rectangular base section (24) provided along each of its longitudinal edges with upstanding lugs (26,30) positioned in alternation in two longitudinal planes, with notches (14,16) in their top edges for reception of the contact pins (34). The transverse offset between the inner and outer upstanding lugs is less than the thickness of the lugs, so that the edges of the adjacent lugs overlap, for providing support for one another, increasing the stability of the carrier belt.
