The method involves dividing the data signal into successive partial signals (T1...T6) bounded by successive positive or negative signal edges. The partial signals are each associated with a partial code (TC1...TC6) with a bit pattern of at least one bit, whereby the partial code associated with a partial signal is generated according to the width of the partial signal and the partial code associated with the previous partial code.
