[origin: WO9721432A1] The therapeutical use of bicyclic derivatives and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof having general formula (I), wherein each of X1, X2, X3 and X4 is independently a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom, with n being 0 or 1; A is selected from an oxygen atom and a carbonyl grouping; each of R1 and R2 is independently either: a hydrogen atom; or an optionally substituted aromatic ring or an optionally substituted heteroaromatic ring having one or more heteroatoms, a saturated ring optionally having one or more heteroatoms, optionally substituted by an alkyl chain; or a chain having 1-4 atoms, consisting of optionally substituted nitrogen, a carbonyl grouping optionally terminated with an optionally substituted aromatic ring or an optionally substituted heteroaromatic ring optionally having one or more heteroatoms; R3 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-5 alkyl radical, a nitrogen radical substituted by two groupings that are each independently a hydrogen atom or a C1-5 alkyl grouping optionally incorporating a carbonyl grouping, or an aromatic ring; and R4 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-5 alkyl radical, or an optionally substituted oxygen-containing derivative, with the exception of 6-phenylamino-5,8-quinolinedione and 2-N-acetylamino-1,4-naphthoquinone.
