[origin: WO9721895A1] A cylinder lock comprises locking tumblers guided parallel to the broad sides of the key way. Disposed on the broad sides (13, 14) of the flat key (2) are guide grooves (15, 16) which cooperate with cams on the locking tumblers. The grooves (15, 16) on the key (2) comprise a plurality of functional regions, the width of a partial region (51) of the groove being broadened. The tumblers, of which the cams engage in these broadened groove regions (51), are equipped with additional positioning elements. This arrangement prevents unauthorized opening of the lock according to the invention with a key (2) of which the guide grooves (15, 16) have been copied.
