[origin: DE19547011C1] In certain cases a triggered switching device (1), e.g., a contactor, must remain in is ON position even if the power supply is cut off. This is effected by mechanical locking by means of a pawl (11) fitted in a bearing (12) which, when the switching device (1) is triggered, is spring-loaded to engage in a recess (5) in the contact support (4). An angle lever (16), which pivots the pawl (11) and releases the contact support (4), can be actuated via a releasing device (7). The system can also be released manually via the switching position indicator (23) of the contact support (8).
