Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0867164A2] The sling hammock, to carry sick or injured people in difficult or hazardous situations, is a rectangular flexible material (1) to support the body, with handgrips (3) along the longitudinal sides. The ends of shoulder strap sets (4,5) are bonded into the edges of the longitudinal sides of the material (1). Two shoulder straps (4,5) are at each of the longitudinal sides (2) of the material (1), where one of the ends is secured to an end section (6) of the carrier fabric (1) and the other end of one of the straps (4) is bonded to the other end section (7). The far end of the other straps (5) is secured to the longitudinal sides (2) at a gap from the ends of the first straps (5) by about two-thirds of the material (1) length from the first end (6) where all the straps (4,5) are secured.
